On 11 December 2022, our community in North Solihull was devastated by the loss of four young boys, Finlay, Samuel, Thomas and Jack.

I shared their story in the House of Commons last week not just to remember them, but to push for action. 

As Vice-Chair of the APPG on Water Safety, I’m calling for urgent improvements to water safety education in schools — because no parent should have to endure such heartbreak, and no child should be unaware of the dangers of water.

This is not a party-political issue — it’s about saving lives. I will continue to work cross-party to ensure our education system properly reflects the real risks children face, particularly during the colder months.
