Today Saqib was on Politics Live where they discussed a range of topics including the Gibraltar Border Deal announced by the Government earlier today.

As the Official Opposition we have a duty to hold the Government to account over this deal and we must ensure it puts the people of Gibraltar first and protects British interests. 15,000 people cross this border every single day, it is vital this deal protects that movement. As we look through the detail of this agreement, fundamentally nothing must affect the constitutional arrangement that Gibraltar has nor its sovereignty.

As we have seen in the past through negotiations over the Chagos Islands, this Government must be held to account over decisions they have made in protecting Britain’s interests abroad. Unfortunately, as I said when asked, I just don’t trust David Lammy to do a good deal for Britain.
