Today, I had the honour of attending the Victory over Japan Day commemorations across Meriden and Solihull East. This included a service this morning at Temple Balsall ceremony and later a service at the refurbished war memorial in Berkswell where I laid a wreath.
Today we came together to pay tribute to the brave men and women who served in the Far East during the Second World War.
VJ Day marks the end of a global conflict that shaped the course of history and reminds us of the courage, resilience, and sacrifice shown by those who fought in some of the most difficult conditions imaginable.
As we reflect on their service and the price of peace, we recommit ourselves to remembering their legacy and standing up for the values they fought to protect.
