Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Tudor Grange Primary Academy Yew Tree as part of Parliament Week. It was fantastic to speak to the whole school about how Parliament works, why democracy matters, and the many ways young people can make their voices heard.
The pupils were brilliantly engaged, full of thoughtful questions, big ideas, and plenty of enthusiasm. It’s always inspiring to see how curious and confident our young people are about the world around them.
After the assembly, I had the opportunity to sit down with the School Council, who shared their priorities for the school and their ideas for improving the community.
A huge thank you to the staff team for the warm welcome and for everything they do to support the next generation. Visits like today remind me how important it is that we listen to young voices and encourage their participation in shaping our future.
