It was great to visit the NEC on Friday to hear more about their exciting plans for the future. I spoke to the team about the new Bear Grylls Adventure site, the range of family-friendly activities they’re developing, and the ambitious events programme they’re preparing for the years ahead.
Inside the main arena, I got to see the impressive premium lounge area, it is hard to believe that Queen performed here when it first opened! The Tempo Lounge, with its 70s disco theme, offers an informal space with live music on show nights, while the 4/4 Lounge provides a more formal, all-inclusive environment for top-tier members.
We also visited the Showdeck, which gives members premium seating, bar access during events, and semi-private booths.
It’s clear the NEC remains a major asset for Meriden and Solihull East, attracting visitors, supporting jobs, and bringing world-class entertainment right here to our area.
