Yesterday, I paid a visit to the JLR plant on Lode Lane, following their restart after the recent cyber attack.
I was incredibly impressed by the resilience and professionalism shown by everyone on site. The teams have worked around the clock to get operations safely back online, and the sense of determination across the company was clear to see.
It was reassuring to hear how seriously JLR has taken the incident from strengthening their cyber-security measures to supporting staff through the difficult period.
Today’s visit highlighted once again not only how vital this plant is to our local economy, but how committed the workforce is to keeping production moving despite the challenges.
JLR employs thousands of people across Meriden and Solihull East and I was reassured to hear about the future of the company, the new products and vehicles that are in the pipeline and JLR’s continued investment in our area.
A huge thank you to JLR for the kind invitation to visit the plant again.
