Last week Saqib dropped by in Parliament to speak with both apprentices and employers from within the hospitality sector, during an event they were holding in Parliament.
Saqib commented "It was a pleasure to hand out some of the awards personally to the apprentices who came down for the day from Meriden and Solihull East.
As the country’s 3rd biggest employer, employing over 3.5 million people, contributing £93 billion annually, generating £54 billion of tax for the Treasury and employing more than 3.5 million people, it is now more important than ever that hospitality is supported and promoted as a rewarding, stable career prospect for people of all ages and those within all social groups.
Since 2010, the UK has seen over 5.3 million apprentices start their apprenticeship journey and I am proud that a Conservative Government oversaw this dramatic increases in take up, facilitated through the introduction of policies such as the Apprenticeship Levy."
