Last week Saqib joined Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP and other key business leaders, Local Government representatives, transport executives at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly business report, with a focus on public transport connectivity.
Saqib commented "Public transport, such as buses, are vital lifelines for many. A proper, well functioning and affordable bus service will allow younger people to travel home quicker to spend more time with family, working people to commute greater distances and elderly people to still maintain their independence by having reliable means to get around.
I stressed the importance of having reliable and affordable bus services in the North of Meriden and Solihull East and within our more rural areas. We must ensure public transport is affordable and accessible regardless of location.
Thank you to everyone who attended the roundtable discussion and I will continue to push for greater access to services across Meriden and Solihull East."
