It was a real pleasure to visit the Solihull Moors Foundation last week and see first-hand the incredible work they are doing across Meriden and Solihull East.
The Foundation is much more than a football charity. It plays a vital role in our community by using sport, education and outreach programmes to support people of all ages, from young people developing skills and confidence, to older residents staying active and connected. Their work includes inclusive football sessions, education and mentoring programmes, and community initiatives such as luncheon clubs and wellbeing activities.
What stood out most was their commitment to inclusion. Whether it’s providing opportunities for children and young people, supporting individuals with disabilities through accessible sport, or helping those facing disadvantage to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, the Foundation is making a real difference to lives across our area.
A huge thank you to the staff, volunteers and participants for taking the time to speak with me and for the dedication they show every day. Organisations like the Solihull Moors Foundation are at the heart of our community, and it’s important we continue to support and champion their work.
