Saqib commented: "Last week I wrote to the Attorney General for England and Wales, Lord Hermer KC, regarding the sentence handed down to convicted child sex offender Daniel Clarke.
Daniel Clarke, was recently jailed for seven years and six months, after pleading guilty to sexual offences against six vulnerable children. At a hearing in February, Clarke pleaded guilty to offences including ‘making indecent photographs of a child, assaulting children by touching, and inciting children to engage in sexual activity with no penetration’.
I am pleased that the Attorney General is reviewing the sentence handed down to Clarke under the Undue Lenient Sentence Scheme (ULS).
As a father myself, I cannot begin to comprehend the pain and anguish felt by the parents, and the rest of the community, who are disgusted by Clarke’s acts.
The crimes committed by Clarke are of such a heinous and serious nature that I feel the sentence handed down to him is not reflective of the extent of his crimes. I am very clear - he needs to feel the full force of the law."
