I recently met with residents who are deeply concerned about the proposed development of up to 300 dwellings on land off Kenilworth Road and Kixley Lane in Knowle.
They spoke passionately about the loss of Green Belt land, the fact that the site is currently being actively farmed, and their concerns regarding the land being classified as “grey belt”.
There were also serious concerns raised about the existing overcapacity of Knowle’s road network and the additional pressure a development of this scale would place on local infrastructure, including GP services and schools. The location of the site will also have a detrimental impact on the local canal network and this was very concerning.
I have formally raised these concerns in my objection letter to Solihull Council and will continue to stand up for residents throughout this process.
I will always stand alongside residents against speculative development and to protect our greenbelt. I am more than happy to meet any concerned resident so we can all
work together.
