It was a real pleasure to speak with the South Solihull U3A recently about my work from Westminster to Meriden and Solihull East.
We had a thoughtful and engaging conversation about the challenges facing our country, the opportunities ahead, and how the decisions made in Westminster connect directly to the lives we lead here in Meriden and Solihull East.
I was especially grateful for the Q&A session, where members raised insightful, informed, and constructive questions on everything from local services to national policy. The member's curiosity, experience, and willingness to engage are exactly what keep our democracy healthy and grounded.
The U3A is an incredibly important organisation, bringing people together, encouraging lifelong learning, building community, and ensuring that older residents have a strong and active voice.
Thank you for inviting me and for the warm welcome.
