Recently I was out on the canal with Mark and the brilliant team at Solihull Canoe Club!
I even spotted a beautiful heron (though it flew off before I could get a photo!) and of course, plenty of ducks around too. Sadly, I also came across quite a bit of rubbish but I'm looking forward to joining the team for a litter pick soon. We all have a part to play in keeping our waterways clean! I will also be keeping up my campaign to increase awareness around water safety.
A real highlight was getting to chat with local legends, Paralympic medalist Rob Oliver and champion paddler Tom Lusty. It is incredible to see such talent right here in our community and I wished them luck as they started their journey to the World Championships.
If you get the chance, come down to Solihull Canoe Club, bring the family, have a go, and enjoy a fantastic day on the water. I highly recommend it!
