Saqib Bhatti, Member of Parliament for Meriden, joined the celebrations in Knowle as the community got together to open the new and improved Knowle Park Playground.

After securing the necessary funding and receiving approval from Solihull Council, local resident Alistair Innes and his team of volunteers from Love Knowle Park were able to begin works to enhance the playground facilities.

Commenting on the project, Saqib said:

“I am delighted to see this project come together. The new facilities will serve the Knowle community well and will provide an excellent space for children and families to get together.

“I want to thank Alistair Innes and his team from Love Knowle Park for spearheading this initiative. Last year I was pleased to give my backing to the project amid the pandemic and it is great to see how much has been achieved within a year.

“Thank you also to all the sponsors who donated and made this project possible.”

Project lead, Alistair Innes from Love Knowle Park added:

“It has been a real privilege to have led this project bringing much needed investment into the heart of Knowle Park.  The idea was formed during the beginning of the pandemic when there was a need to do something positive that the community could get behind and look forward to.

“I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the success of this project including the individuals and businesses who have contributed so generously.

“In addition, a special thanks to must go to Sarah Smith and Charlotte Richmond for their roles in the project team and to The Knowle Society and KDBH forum who have provided help with the management and securing of funds.”
