
Earlier in March, reports emerged that suggested the Health Secretary had failed to intervene in an NHS puberty blocker trial.
Evidence has demonstrated that the use of puberty suppressing drugs can have dangerous consequences on children.
Saqib commented: "That is why, following my question in the House of Commons, I have written to Wes Streeting, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, to express my deep concern regarding the use of puberty blockers on children.
In my view, it would therefore be unconscionable to conduct further trials on the use of puberty suppressing drugs on children and I have urged the Health Secretary to show courage and moral leadership to keep our children safe."
