Protecting the Meriden Gap

.

Yesterday in Parliament, I raised serious concerns about the threat facing our villages in Meriden and Solihull East due to the Government’s dubious definition of grey belt and its wider planning agenda.

The so called grey belt risks opening the door to development on land that has long served as a vital buffer between our towns and countryside the Meriden Gap.

I have asked the Leader of the House to write to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government asking that he strengthen protections for these vital green spaces and ensure that the Meriden Gap remains safeguarded for future generations.

I will always stand with residents against speculative development.
