Earlier this week I met with a wonderful support group for people from Hong Kong who are now living in Solihull.
The group has a number of different functions, from coming together to learn about the history of the United Kingdom, to providing a support network for each other, as they navigate life here in the UK.
The United Kingdom and Hong Kong have a unique and special relationship and I updated the group on my support for Jimmy Lai, a pro-democracy activist in Hong Kong who has been arrested by the Chinese government, my objections to a Chinese Super Embassy on UK soil and more locally how I’m working to get an A & E at Solihull Hospital, save our Police Station from closure and protect our precious greenbelt.
Thank you to the group for the kind invitation to come along and the warm reception you gave me.
