Last week, Saqib wrote to the Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands regarding the vehicle crime and the future of Solihull Police Station.
Saqib commented "Since being first elected in 2019, I have been proud to lead a campaign to cut crime and keep the streets safe and this has been one of my priorities in Meriden and Solihull East. That is why I have written to the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner to ask for answers.
Many of the residents I have spoken with believe car crime is increasing and are worried about leaving their cars on their driveways or on the street overnight and sometimes during the day. This is simply not good enough.
I also again challenged Mr Foster to once and for all make clear the future of Solihull Police Station. This vital community resource must be protected.
I am proud that the previous Conservative Government achieved our manifesto commitment to recruit 20,000 new police officers including 1,300 for the West Midlands. We need them in our streets and in our communities."
