Yesterday, in the House of Commons, I challenged the Secretary of State for Transport on the unacceptable delay in the release of HS2 land around Arden Cross, a transformational project worth hundreds of millions of pounds to our local economy.
Arden Cross has the potential to deliver thousands of jobs, new homes, commercial investment and major regeneration opportunities for Meriden and Solihull East. But these benefits cannot be realised while vital land remains tied up by HS2 delays.
I asked the Minister to urgently look at the speed at which land is being released from HS2 so that long-promised development and investment can finally move forward.
Communities in Balsall Common and Berkswell have already suffered so much disruption, uncertainty and damage under HS2. Residents deserve answers, accountability and progress.
I will continue to hold HS2 to account and fight for the interests of our local communities.
