Today in Parliament Saqib met with Lucy McCann after she was awarded with a Changemaker Award for her work as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and the contribution she has made in the fight against Axial Spondyloarthritis (AS)
Axial spondyloarthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the spine and sacroiliac joints. It's a type of inflammatory arthritis that can cause severe pain, stiffness, and fatigue. The main symptom is back pain, and over time, some spinal bones may fuse together.
Saqib commented: "Lucy has been involved in the fight against this horrific infliction as part of the The National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS) the only UK registered charity dedicated to axial spondyloarthritis.
NASS provide support, advice and information to people with AS. They are committed to keeping people as informed as possible about AS and are in the thick of the campaign for better awareness, identification of the condition and the drive to reduce time to diagnosis from 8.5 years to 1 year.
Congratulations to Lucy on her award and thank you to her for the amazing work she does!"
