Saqib commented "Following the Government’s announcement earlier this week stating that a National Statutory Inquiry will now take place, I asked the Women and Equalities Minister as to whether that Inquiry will have the power to force local authorities who do not want an Inquiry to take place to co-operate.

I did not get a straight answer - we are clear, the inquiry must be swift and wherever the evidence leads - those who have covered up these crimes should be brought to account

The victims of this horrific exploitation deserve justice and they deserve answers, this Inquiry must take place swiftly and without obstruction."
