Berkswell Reading Room Renovation

I paid a visit to the Berkswell Reading Room on Friday, to catch up with Sharon Tuersley, Clerk to the Lant Charity, and Penny Downing, the Charity’s Chair.

Earlier this year, the Lant Charity received £50,400 for their Berkswell Reading Room Heritage Window Conservation project, from HS2. The funding has enabled the replacement of the Reading Room’s distinctive century-old front window, an important feature of the much loved community space.

The new design preserves the building’s historic character while improving its environmental performance for the future. It’s fantastic to see the project after its completion. A huge thank you to the Lant Charity for their continued work supporting Berkswell, Balsall Common, and Temple Balsall.
