The scale of proposed development around Hockley Heath is excessive and is contributing to the continued erosion of Green Belt protections in Solihull.
I have sent my formal objection to Warwick District Council about the planning application for 330 dwellings on Land South of Aylesbury Road. The letter raises the concerns I have received from constituents in recent months and will be considered as part of the planning decision making process.
Although this application is outside the boundary of my constituency, the subsequent impacts of this development will be borne entirely by the local community in Hockley Heath and Dorridge.
While I understand the need for more housing, it must come in the right places, with proper consultation, consent from affected communities and the appropriate local infrastructure.
This application is inappropriate and unjustified in terms its of location and scale, and I will continue to fight to protect our precious Green Belt and our rural communities.
